Active Investor Plus (AIP) Visa

The Active Investor Plus visa offers high-value investors and their families the opportunity to live, work, and invest in New Zealand, while building a pathway to permanent residence. This visa is designed to attract investors who want to actively support New Zealand businesses, innovation, and economic growth.

Investment Pathways

There are two categories under the AIP visa:

Growth Category

Minimum investment: NZD 5 million
Investment period: 3 years
Physical presence: 21 days total in New Zealand

Balanced Category

Minimum investment: NZD 10 million
Investment period: 5 years
Physical presence: 105 days total in New Zealand (can be reduced if investing above NZD 11m)

Direct investments into New Zealand businesses
Managed funds and listed equities
Government, local, or corporate bonds
Philanthropy
Property development (new residential, or new/existing commercial and industrial projects)

Key Advantages

Pathway to residence: Gain permanent residence once investment and presence requirements are met.
